A great pair of glasses should have plenty of character. The fit? That should feel effortless.

Finding the right frame is about more than what looks good in the mirror. Size, bridge shape, and a few expert adjustments can make all the difference in how your glasses look, feel, and wear throughout the day.

At MOSCOT, we’ve been fitting frames to faces since 1915. Here’s what we’ve learned.

What Does a Good Pair of Glasses Fit Feel Like?

Your glasses should feel comfortable, secure, and balanced—without pinching your nose, squeezing your temples, or pressing behind your ears.

    Here's a quick fit check:

Look straight ahead: Your frame should sit evenly, with your eyes properly positioned within the lenses.
Move your head: Turn side to side and look up and down. Your glasses should stay comfortably in place.
Check for pressure: Pay attention to your nose, temples, and behind your ears. No pinching or discomfort allowed.

If you're constantly pushing your glasses up or taking them off for relief, it's time for a closer look.

Love Your Frames, but Not the Fit?

Good news: a little adjustment may be all you need.

Loose glasses don't necessarily mean you've chosen the wrong size. Sometimes, they just need a professional touch.

Visit any MOSCOT Shop for a complimentary adjustment, or stop by your local optician. A little fine-tuning can go a long way toward keeping your favorite frames sitting pretty.

Start With Size, Then Consider Shape

Round, square, bold, understated – frame shape is a matter of personal style. Fit comes down to how the design works with your features.

Even frames with the same lens width can fit differently depending on their bridge construction, acetate thickness, and overall proportions.

That's why measurements are a great starting point, but trying on a frame is always worth it.

    Understanding Your Frame Measurements

Ever notice three little numbers inside your glasses, like 46–24–145? Here's what they mean:

    Measurement
    What It Means
    Lens Width (46 mm)
The horizontal width of one lens
    Bridge Width (24 mm)
    The distance between the lenses
    Temple Length (145 mm)
The length of the arm, from hinge to tip

Another useful measurement is frame width, which refers to the total width of the frame front.

MOSCOT frame sizes are identified by lens width. For the best comparison, check the measurements on each product page against a pair you already love wearing.

    Don't Forget the Bridge

The bridge does more than connect your lenses. It helps determine how your glasses sit on your nose.

Acetate bridges have a fixed shape, while adjustable nose pads allow for a more customized fit. Keyhole bridges distribute contact differently, so a little space beneath the upper arch doesn't necessarily mean something's wrong.

If your glasses tend to slide or rest against your cheeks, a different bridge design may be the answer.

For example, The LEMTOSH and MILTZEN are also available with metal nose pads, offering additional support for less prominent nose bridges.

Same eye-conic frames. Another way to find your fit.

Finding Your Fit in The LEMTOSH

Got your eye on The LEMTOSH? You've got options.

Our iconic frame comes in four sizes – 44, 46, 49, and 52 – so you can find the proportion that works best for your face.

Smaller sizes create a more compact look, while larger sizes offer a bolder presence. The right fit should feel comfortable, sit securely, and suit your personal style.

Our advice? Try neighboring sizes when possible. Sometimes, a few millimeters make all the difference.

Can Oversized Glasses Still Fit Properly?

    You bet.

Oversized doesn't have to mean oversized on you.

A larger silhouette can still fit comfortably, provided the bridge sits securely, the temples don't pinch, and the frame stays balanced on your face.

If you're adding prescription lenses, an optician can also help determine whether your preferred size and shape are suitable for your prescription.

    Big personality. Proper fit.

Your Face. Your Frame. Your Fit.

There's no one-size-fits-all approach to great eyewear.

The right frame should feel comfortable, work with your prescription, and look unmistakably you.

Start with your measurements, try a few sizes, and leave the finishing touches to the pros.

After all, we've been fitting frames to faces for over 111 years. We know a thing or two about a good fit.
